AC/DC debut single sells for $1225 on eBay

One AC/DC fan has paid $1225 a copy of 'Can I Sit Next To You Girl', the debut single from AC/DC.

'Can I Sit Next To You Girl' was only ever released in Australia and features lead vocals from original singer Dave Evans. The b-side was another original 'Rockin' In The Parlour'.

The two songs were the only AC/DC recordings featuring Evans who was replaced soon after by Bon Scott. The single debuted on May 8, 1975 and reached no. 19 on the Australian chart.

AC/DC re-recorded 'Can I Sit Next To You Girl' for their second album 'TNT'.

27 bids came in for this auction starting with a $2 bid on December 31, 2011. Today's successful bidder place his/her first bid on January 2 for $500, then jumped to $700, then $888.75, $1000, $1100, $1155 and finally $1225.
