Lana Del Rey pulls Australian dates

Lana-Del-Rey-pulls-Australian-dates Email this story Printable version

Lana Del Rey will no longer come to Australia later this month.

After taking off globally since the original announcement, the current dates in tiny venues in Sydney and Melbourne have been dumped for bigger venues and a larger tour later in the year.

Lana was due to play 500 capacity Oxford Art Factory in Sydney on February 28 and 300 capacity The Toff In Town in Melbourne on March 3.

Reports out of the USA today suggest that all Lana Del Rey dates worldwide have been pulled because of her disastrous performance recently on Saturday Night Live.

All ticket holders will be given full refunds and priority booking for new dates.

Refund info: If you purchased your ticket online or over the phone through moshtix your ticket will be automatically refunded back to your credit card/PayPal account. If you purchased your ticket from a moshtix retail outlet you will need to return to the outlet with your ticket to receive your refund.

The Lana Del Rey album 'Born To Die' was released this week through Universal.

Slow-Club-tour-dates,-new-single-and-SXSW-dates Email this story Printable version

Slow Club's latest single "The Dog" is reflective of the themes on their hit second album "Paradise" - it carries within it a dark, thoughtful view of the world.

A highlight of their live set that sees Rebecca Taylor take her seat behind the drum kit, "The Dog" has been reworked for it's single release. Katzenjammer-announce-London-dates Email this story Printable version

We're thrilled to announce the first UK live dates of 2012 for Norwegian sensations 'Katzenjammer'.

Following their extensive European touring and sell-out UK shows at the Water Rats and then Dingwalls late last year, the 'Team Me' labelmates will be performing at HMV's Next Big Thing on Monday 6th Feb at the Borderline and on the 22nd March at the Scala.

If you're unfamiliar with them, they're "a four-piece, all-girl outfit of multi-instrumentalists that perform swinging, singing, cowboy-inspired fairground burlesque with all-out riotous, folk, pop & gypsy punk".

They look and sound a bit like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=hHcklZEi1kk

Blood Red Shoes album and tour dates

Advertisements

added: 27 Jan 2012 // by: newsdesk

Blood-Red-Shoes-album-and-tour-dates Email this story Printable version

Brighton-based duo Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell will return this year with new album 'In Time To Voices' out on March 26th and a new single 'Cold', released on March 19th via V2/Co-Operative Music. The band will also be hitting the road throughout the UK for an April and May tour.

Since the release of their debut almost 4 years ago, the duo have embarked on a gruelling, unrelenting tour schedule, seeing them travel the four corners of the globe and earning them an international fanbase. However the life on the road can have its side-effects as Steven speaks of some of their more troublesome moments :

''From getting arrested after spending a night drinking in a biker den, Laura fighting bouncers....twice, to the two of us breaking up onstage or having a giant fight in Prague and me getting found in the street robbed by two prostitutes. Oh and there was that time where we were invited to a hotel demolition party in Paris where we broke into Keith Richards' room and totalled it. These stories are all on the record. I guess being only two people spending more than 300 days a year together makes you kind of...volatile. Modern bands seem way too clean-cut and sensible to us anyway.'

The new album 'In Time To Voices', released March 26th was recorded at The Motor Museum in Liverpool, continuing their successful partnership with Mike Crossey (Arctic Monkeys/Foals/Tribes) who co-produced the album with them.
The record sees Blood Red Shoes come of age musically, building on their punk rock roots and moving into an ambitious, three-dimensional new sound that encapsulates heavy rock as much as it does as sweeping, melancholy soundscapes and classic songwriting drawn from the likes of Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones.

FULL TRACKLISTING
• In Time To Voices
• Lost Kids
• Cold
• Two Dead Minutes
• The Silence And The Drones
• Night Light
• Je Me Perds
• Stop Kicking
• Slip Into Blue
• Down Here In The Dark
• 7 Years

Touring heavily throughout 2011, this year sees the band back on the road with no signs of slowing down with a full worldwide tour planned and UK dates confirmed, detailed below:

School of Seven Bells dates

School-of-Seven-Bells-dates Email this story Printable version

School of Seven Bells have announced a short run of European shows kicking off on March 8th at The Garage in London. The Brooklyn duo made up of Benajmin Curtis and Alejandra Deheza are set to release third album 'Ghostory' on February 27th on Full Time Hobby with their new single 'Lafaye' due February 20th.

Ghostory is the follow-up to the band's past releases, Alpinisms and Disconnect From Desire. On the new record, the duo strings together nine lush pieces to tell the story of the aforementioned Lafaye and the ghosts that surround her life. Thematically, the story is somewhat personal to the group, as the writing sessions for this album was a more intimate and direct experience. As Curtis explains 'Ghosts are everything that's ever happened to you that you haven't been able to let go of, like someone you love, or someone you hate." The emphatic bellows of Lafaye and her fellow ghosts are heard loud and clear from beginning to end on this record.

School of Seven Bells European Tour:

08/03 - The Garage - London
10/03 - Botanique - Witloof - Belgium, Brussels
11/03 - Bitterzoet - Amsterdam, Netherlands
12/03 - Point Ephemere - Paris, France

The Bootleg Beatles tour dates and interview

The-Bootleg-Beatles-tour-dates-and-interview Email this story Printable version

1962 was a significant year in music history. Ringo Starr joined the Beatles, Brian Epstein became their manager and the band had their first recording session at Abbey Road Studios, thus prompting one of the greatest developments the world of popular music has ever seen.

50 years to the day after the Fab Four's radio debut, The Bootleg Beatles kick off their 20 date UK Tour on 8th March 2012. The band's last tour saw the debut of Adam Hastings (as John Lennon) who has added his raspingly accurate vocals to the Bootleg line-up, replacing Neil Harrison (who has portrayed Lennon in the Bootlegs since their formation 32 years ago). His performance was met with critical acclaim by aficionados and fans alike. 'Note perfect renditions of songs coupled with spot-on vocals instantly create the illusion that it really is the Fab Four up on stage. Five stars' ' Latest 7, Brighton.

The Bootleg Beatles were the first band that Adam ever saw perform live ' he met Neil and got a signed poster after a gig at Newcastle City Hall. Adam recalls, 'I had three posters on my bedroom wall ' Nirvana, one of the real Beatles and the autographed Bootlegs poster ' in my mind as a lad they all had equal status, so to be joining them full time is amazingly ridiculous!'

The concerts will feature The Bootleg Beatles performing their authentic renditions of the greatest songs from the entire Beatles catalogue. They will be accompanied by their accomplished orchestra, who help them faithfully re-create many of the hits the Beatles never performed live.

Dan Mangan new video and dates

Dan-Mangan-new-video-and-dates Email this story Printable version

After rounding off 2011 with a stellar performance at End of the Road's Christmas Shindig at Cargo in London, Dan Mangan will be returning to the UK in April for an 8-date tour, kicking off in Brighton on April 27th. The full list of tour dates can be found below. Mangan will also be releasing new single 'Rows of Houses' taken from his critically-acclaimed album 'Oh Fortune' on March 19th.

Inspired by the film 'Stand By Me', 'Rows of Houses' will be released on March 19th through City Slang. Stirring, deep and dabbling with themes of mortality, the track is one of the Polaris Music Prize-nominated Canadian's darker efforts and its accompanying video reflects these ideas, many of which appear throughout 'Oh Fortune'.

Having performed at numerous festivals from Glastonbury to End of the Road, played for Wills & Kate by request of the Canadian Government and joined the likes of The Walkmen, The Decemberists and Okkervil River on tour; Dan Mangan has proven himself to be a must-see performer with an incredible voice.

Dan Mangan will be playing the following UK dates:

APRIL
27th: BRIGHTON, The Hope
28th: MANCHESTER, Castle
29th: GLASGOW, Stereo

MAY
1st: NEWCASTLE, Cluny 2

Los Campesinos! UK tour dates

Advertisements

added: 18 Jan 2012 // by: newsdesk

Los-Campesinos!-UK-tour-dates Email this story Printable version

Following the release of Los Campesinos!, whose fourth album, Hello Sadness, came out in November last year on Wichita to an accompanying heap of critical praise.

The Cardiff-based band are delighted to announce a full UK jaunt this coming March.

Recorded in Girona, Spain, Hello Sadness is ten songs of love, loss and heartbreak nail-gunned to a back-drop of broken, tangled bodies, creeping, dead-eyed animals, suffocating, looming shadows and World Cup exits. It is an honest, bare-bones documentation of breaking up and trying not to break up in the process.

At just ten songs and 40 minutes, Hello Sadness is perhaps the first Los Campesinos! album that sounds lean and pruned, indulgence shorn away and filler ruthlessly excised. The youngsters that made debut You! Me! Dancing! are long gone. The band they've grown into, though, are something to fall for all over again. Hold tight for news on a new single in March to coincide with the following dates:

Tue 20 Mar - Exeter, Pheonix
Wed 21 Mar - Bristol, Thekla
Thu 22 Mar - London, Electric Ballroom
Fri 23 Mar - Oxford, Academy
Sat 24 Mar - Birmingham, Rainbow Warehouse
Mon 26 Mar - Manchester, Academy 3
Tue 27 Mar - Liverpool, O2 Academy 2
Wed 28 Mar - Edinburgh, Cabaret Voltaire
Thu 29 Mar, Newcastle, Academy 2

Dropkick Murphys new single and dates

Advertisements

added: 10 Jan 2012 // by: newsdesk

Dropkick-Murphys-new-single-and-dates Email this story Printable version

Dropkick Murphys have announced Bouncing Souls, PLUS SPECIAL GUEST as support for their UK shows and to celebrate their tour they are releasing "Going Out In Style" as a single on February 6th.

Dropkick Murphys released their seventh full-length studio album, Going Out In Style earlier in 2011 on their own Born & Bred Records, through Cooking Vinyl.
Now there is to be a CD deluxe version of their album 'Going Out In Style Live At Fenway', released on March 12th following its digital release on Dec 4th.

The HYPERLINK "http://glnk.it/pn" \t "_blank" Live At Fenway Edition includes the full 'Going Out In Style' studio album, plus a bonus live album from earlier this fall.
The live songs were recorded on September 8th and 9th, when the band played two sold out shows at Boston's Fenway Park. "Going Out In Style'Live at Fenway Edition" captures the energy of the band playing on the hallowed ground of Fenway Park, to their home-town fans. It's now available for everyone to enjoy.

'Going Out In Style' was produced by Ted Hutt and features the group's signature blend of punk rock energy, folk soul, Irish spirit and American rock 'n roll on tracks like 'Memorial Day' 'Going Out In Style,' 'The Hardest Mile,' 'Cruel,' 'Climbing A Chair To Bed,' and a rousing rendition of 'Peg O' My Heart' with guest vocals by Bruce Springsteen.
Dropkick Murphys are not your typical punk band, they're Boston's biggest rock band, a band that plays Irish music with punk roots. A band with enormous families and armies of friends. DKM's music is so erce and furious, their stage presence so explosive, and their commitment to their fans so ironclad, one can't help but be moved.

Now in their 15th year with a Scorsese soundtrack hit, a US top 20 album, a lifetime membership to every Boston sports team and a sound owing as much to Springsteen and The Pogues as to the Clash, DM have come a long way from the days of Boston's Rathskeller.

Dropkick Murphys--Al Barr (lead vocals), Tim Brennan (guitars, accordion, whistle, vocals), Ken Casey (lead vocals, bass guitar), Jeff DaRosa (banjo, bouzouki, mandolin, harmonica, vocals), Matt Kelly (drums, vocals), James Lynch (guitar, vocals), and Scruffy Wallace (bagpipes)- come to the UK and Ireland in February
for four shows

Dropkick Murphys' February tour dates in UK and Ireland with the Bouncing Souls supporting are:

Wed 8th Liverpool O2 Academy
Thurs 9th Dublin Vicar Street.
Fri 10th London Roundhosue
Sat 11th Glasgow Barowland 1&2
