Music-News.com are the first to reveal that Dragon's Den star and owner of RKA Records, Duncan Bannatyne is rumoured to be making a TV show to rival the likes of the X Factor, The Voice and Britain's Got Talent, and Music-News.com's very own reality TV guru, Dean Midas Maynard is involved.

It was only last week, that Rupert Adams at William Hill, said Dean was 66/1 to join the judges X Factor panel. Even though Dean openly says it is his 'dream job' to work alongside Simon Cowell, he also has the ambition, if you can't join them, beat them.

Ryan Ashmore, the co-founder of RKA Records, contacted Dean and advised that Duncan (Bannatyne) was looking for innovative ideas for a new reality show format. So the team locked themselves away together and put their brilliant minds to work. They emerged full of excitement. An idea was born.

Dean said, "We can't give anything away at this stage but the idea is fresh, new and will certainly get people interested".

Ryan Ashmore commented "I am working closely with Dean Maynard and I believe we have come up with a TV concept to find the next world star".

Who will be involved? The main judges will be Ryan, Duncan and Dean. But they also need some female influence. Selena Gomez, Rachel Stevens and Holly Valance are rumoured to be high on their list.

As we speak the finishing touches are being put to the project with more news to follow..very soon.

Metallica's big announcement has been made, the creation of their own Orion Music + More Festival. The first festival will take place in Atlantic City, New Jersey on June 23 and 24.

The initial line-up with Metallica is Arctic Monkeys, Avenged Sevenfold, Modest Mouse, The Gaslight Anthem, Cage The Elephant, Fucked Up, Best Coast, Hot Snakes, Titus Andronicus, Gary Clark Jr., Lucero, Roky Erickson, The Black Angels, The Sword, Liturgy, and more to be announced in the coming weeks.

'We've had the idea of doing our own lifestyle festival with lots of diverse music and fun and games for years,' said Lars Ulrich. 'Finally this year all the practical ducks lined up in a row, and we are beyond psyched to bring Orion to our fans, friends and the curious. After the most incredible of weeks ever in December 2011 celebrating our 30th anniversary at the Fillmore in San Francisco, CA, bringing the spirit of that week, the looseness of that week, the possibilities of that week, the fan interactive elements of that week, and the (fill in your own blank here) of that week to a festival setting is so exciting we can hardly contain ourselves.'

There are reports that London born rapper and singer M.I.A. could end up paying potentially huge fines handed out to the TV network NBC following her unscripted Super Bowl half-time performance on Sunday.

The Paper Planes singers swore during her comeo in Madonna's half time show enraging tha material girl.

In an unusual turn of events Madonna was upstaged in front of the hundred and eleven million people watching around the world as M.I.A. stuck up her middle finger as they played Madonna's latest single.

NBC staff tried to blur the moment but missed it. The network was quick to offer an apology and dismiss responsibility saying it was not in the act during rehearsals.

TV Network CBS was almost fined over half a million dollars for the Janet Jackson 'wardrobe malfunction' back in 2004, when part of her top was ripped off... revealing more than it should have done.

M.I.A. will have to wait and see if the stunt backfires on her financially.

From Radiohead to Vivaldi How Ford used an eclectic playlist to perfect the sound system

From-Radiohead-to-Vivaldi--How-Ford-used-an-eclectic-playlist-to-perfect-the-sound-system Email this story Printable version

COLOGNE, Germany, Feb. 7, 2012 ' Every car ' like every room or auditorium ' has unique acoustics qualities. The size and shape of the cabin, the materials in the seats and dashboard, the ratio of glass and steel ' all of it impact the sound quality in a new car.

When Ford engineers set out to fine tune the perfect sound system to match the acoustics of the new B-MAX multi-activity vehicle, they found they needed a special tool -- the perfect music playlist.

Radiohead, Black-Eyed Peas, the Eagles and jazz legend John Coltrane rubbed shoulders with classical composers Vivaldi and Carl Orff on the B-MAX playlist as engineers used key moments in the songs and pieces to fine-tune the B-MAX sound system.

The classic opening to the Eagles' anthem Hotel California features the ideal 'dry' sound for testing bass, ambience and tone, says Ford of Europe audio engineer Matthias Terstegge. He should know. He has listened to it thousands of times while developing the B-MAX and other Ford cars.

He also listened out for the powerful kick bass in Black-Eyed Peas' track Just Can't Get Enough to test the woofers in the B-MAX; tuning the low frequency filters in the amplifier unit to retain a strong and punchy bass sound without door buzz and rattles

The all-new Ford B-MAX will be available with an exclusive premium quality Sony audio system. It features eight high performance speakers and a 4 x 25 Watt Sony amplifier. Drivers can select music from the built-in CD/radio unit, including Digital Audio Broadcast, or from their own portable music players connected via USB or Bluetooth.

The tuning top hits used by Ford audio engineers include the following tracks.
Artist Track Tuning potential
Yello Oh Yeah Kick bass / Low voice
Fugees Nappy Heads Low bass / Mid bass / Door buzz
Talking Heads Flowers Kick bass / Door buzz / Woofer distortion
Radiohead Packt Like Sardines Kick bass / Door buzz / Woofer distortion
Peter Gabriel Growing Up Low bass / Kick bass / Door buzz
Joan Baez Diamonds And Rust Ambience / Treble / Tonal balance
Black-Eyed Peas Just Can't Get Enough Low Bass/ Kick Bass/ Door Buzz
Mariah Carey Butterfly Ambience / Treble / Tonal balance

Quick quips: Paul McCartney, KISS, Don Cornelius, Etta James, Black Sabbath, musical cruise

Advertisements

added: 8 Feb 2012 // by: VVN Music

Quick-quips:-Paul-McCartney,-KISS,-Don-Cornelius,-Etta-James,-Black-Sabbath,-musical-cruise Email this story Printable version

Digital Music News has reported that all Paul McCartney and Wings albums that are under the Concord Music Group umbrella have been pulled from Spotify, Rhapsody, MOG, Rdio and other streaming services. It also appears that McCartney music from sources other than Concord are also being removed.

The Angry Genes? Yes, that could be one direction that the creators of the Angry Birds game could go as they talk with the members of KISS about bringing out a band-based version of the game. Gene Simmons told the magazine Industry Games that the group is looking to break into the video game market in a big way but not by creating one from scratch, but by attaching the KISS brand to existing hits.
So while the gaming world is waiting for the KISS games that are going to explode, we're busy taking the brand to places where no band has gone before. So Hello Kitty is one of the biggest brands on planet Earth. Now there's KISS Hello Kitty, which we've already launched in 90 countries. We're talking with Angry Birds, KISS and Angry Birds, which will become a deal. The KISS and the Archie world have now teamed up and the first issues of KISS Archie comic books hits the world this month. KISS golf courses are starting in Las Vegas right across from the Hard Rock. That opens in January. It's just endless what we can do, but we only do things when it's right. Just because there are games, and just because there's this or that out there, unless the deal is right and unless the content is exciting to our fans, we don't do it.

Coroners ruled on Tuesday that Don Cornelius' death was, indeed, a suicide. Toxicology tests, which could take a week or two, are needed before a final report can be issued.

The Grammys will present a salute to Etta James at this Sunday's awards ceremony. Alicia Keys and Bonnie Raitt will sing.

Fans appear to be getting on the Bill Ward bandwagon after an internet rumor circulated that he was being replaced in the Black Sabbath reunion by Tommy Clufetos who previously played with Ozzy Osbourned.
A Facebook group, 1,000,000 Black Sabbath Fans Say Yes to Bill Ward, has been formed and they have reported that the people who run Black Sabbath's Facebook page have turned off all comments.

Here's a concert lineup for you, if you want to take a cruise around the Caribbean. The Malt Shop Memories cruise will depart from Ft. Lauderdale, FL on October 27 for Turks & Caicos, San Juan, St. Thomas and the private island of Half Moon Cay. On stage during the seven day trip will be Dion, Frankie Avalon, Bobby Rydell, Ronnie Spector, Darlene Love, The Original Drifters, The Duprees, Sonny Turner (former lead singer of the Platters), Carl Gardner's Coasters, Kenny Vance and the Planotones, The Chiffons, The Tymes, The Marvelettes and more.

Motley Crue kicked off their heavily promoted residency at Las Vegas' Hard Rock Cafe on Thursday with a show that would make Sin City proud.

It wasn't just the Crue on the stage, it was a whole host of Vegas and circus performers including little people, some pretty sick clowns, aerialists, stilt walkers and, of course, a few show girls.

As far as the music, it was a mix of the hits and some rarities such as Bastard, which they haven't performed live in 15 years and Piece of Your Action whose last performance was in 2000. Along with hard rocking, there was a four-song acoustic set in the middle of the show.

The set list (which is changing slightly each night):

Main Set

Live Wire
Wild Side
Too Fast For Love
Saints of Los Angeles
Shout at the Devil
Afraid
Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.)
Without You (acoustic)

The Platter only living member wins day in court

Advertisements

added: 4 Feb 2012 // by: VVN Music

The-Platter-only-living-member-wins-day-in-court Email this story Printable version

In another victory for the artists of the 50's and 60's, a federal judge has issued an injunction against a man using the name The Platters without having a heritage with the group.

For years, many early rock and soul vocal groups have seen their names used by artists who have no connection with the original group, many times giving the audience the idea that they are seeing historical performers. Thirty-three states have passed Truth-in-Music laws prohibiting such performers, requiring at least one member of the group to have a connection to the original and a federal law is making its way through congress.

Nevada is one of those states and federal judge Phillip M. Pro used the law to issue an injunction against Monroe Powell who had been using the name The Platters Featuring the Legendary Michael Powell in performances in Las Vegas and other venues around the country. In doing so, he reaffirmed Herb Reed as the only remaining member of the group and the controller of the trademark.

In his 14-page ruling, Judge Pro acknowledged that numerous courts have been asked for years to decide who is "The Great Pretender" when it comes to deciding who actually holds the rights to the famous Platters name writing, "'Only You, Herb Reed have exclusive rights to the mark "The Platters."" He enjoined Powell from using "The Platters" and "any equivalent or phonetically similar names or marks, in connection with any vocal group in any advertisements, promotional, marketing, or other materials..."

Judge Pro went on to state two exceptions, writing that Powell "may use the mark "The Platters" if the word "Tribute" or "Revue" is included and when displayed or advertised, the word "Tribute" or "Revue" is at least one half the font size of 'The Platters."

Responding to today's decision Reed said, "After more than 30 years of court battles that at one time spawned more than 100 groups performing somewhere in the world as "The Platters" the court is restoring my identity to me as the founder and only surviving member of the vocal group. This way, my legacy is and will continue as I intended in 1953."

Demi Lovato 'thought she would be sick' at her first performance.

The singer-and-actress found fame on Disney show Sonny with a Chance, which she left last year.

Demi, 19, admits that she was not always a fan of being on stage. Her first performance was terrifying.

'I was so nervous that I thought I might be sick, but I was also really excited,' she told OK! magazine. 'Once I got out there I loved it!'

Demi is now deeply devoted to her flourishing career. The star sets her sights high and is interested in collaborating with some of her favourite artists soon.

'There are so many musicians I'd like to work with,' Demi gushed. 'I can't name just one. I'd really love to work with Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Eminem. They are all so talented.'

Demi went rehab in 2010 to be treated for 'emotional and physical issues'. She has battled an eating disorder which she's been open about in the hope it will help other young people.

Demi has thrived since being released from treatment.

Her new album Unbroken was released last autumn.

Robin Gibb feels fantastic

Robin-Gibb-feels-fantastic Email this story Printable version

Robin Gibb is elated that his liver cancer is 'almost gone.'

The 62-year-old Bee Gees musician is undergoing chemotherapy treatments after being admitted to the hospital with the disease in November.

His health has drastically improved since his initial admission and Robin is looking forward to his future.

'The prognosis is that it's almost gone and I feel fantastic and really from now on it's just what they could describe as a 'mopping-up' operation,' Robin told host Steve Wright in an interview on BBC Radio 2 today. 'I am very active and my sense of well-being is good.'

Robin is glad he decided to speak up about the pain he was experiencing, as he has achieved remarkable results.

'I mean the fact is, I've never spoken to anybody about my condition or the condition that I was in and a lot of them go over the top to the point where they're telling me things that I didn't even know about myself,' Robin explained. 'Well, it's all simple. I was diagnosed with a growth in my colon. It was removed. And I've been treated for that by a brilliant doctor, and in their own words 'the results have been spectacular.' And they said 'What are you doing that we don't know about?' and I said I'm not doing anything and in fact I haven't taken a single tablet.'

Before he sought treatment, Robin believed that the pains in his stomach were related to a condition he suffered from previously. The star has had repeated health problems due to a twisted bowel and his brother Maurice died nine years ago from the malady at the age of 53.

Robin is elated that his innards are now functioning harmoniously.

'I feel better than I did ten years ago. I'm active, my appetite's fantastic, the plumbing is all in perfect working order,' Robin said. 'If I had a choice about how I'd like to feel for the rest of my life, this would be it. If I wanted to tick all the right boxes about sense of well-being, it would be now. This is the way I'd like to feel. I don't know how I could feel any better.'

Black Sabbath reunion in jeopardy

Advertisements

added: 3 Feb 2012 // by: Marco Gandolfi

Black-Sabbath-reunion-in-jeopardy Email this story Printable version

The 2012 Black Sabbath reunion tour has been thrown in jeopardy with founding member Bill Ward announcing he will not go ahead with the tour unless he is given a 'signable contract'.

In a lengthy statement posted on his website Ward says he is currently in a 'holding pattern' and says he is being given 'the cold shoulder (and not for the first time).

The original line-up of Black Sabbath announced a reunion tour and new album for 2012 at a press conference in Los Angeles on November 11 last year.

We understand that he is not with the rest of the group in Birmingham working on material while Tony Iommi receives cancer treatment and he is not being kept up-to-date on the work in progress.

At worst this could scupper reunion plans at best it would mean a partial reunion minus Ward. As yet the rest of the band have yet to comment on the on going situation.

All will be revealed before the first date on the reunion tour scheduled for May 18 in Moscow.

Bill Wards web posting is in full below:

Dear Sabbath Fans, Fellow Musicians and Interested Parties,

At this time, I would love nothing more than to be able to proceed with the Black Sabbath album and tour. However, I am unable to continue unless a 'signable' contract is drawn up; a contract that reflects some dignity and respect toward me as an original member of the band. Last year, I worked diligently in good faith with Tony, Ozzy and Geezer. And on 11/11/11, again in good faith, I participated in the L.A. press conference. Several days ago, after nearly a year of trying to negotiate, another 'unsignable' contract was handed to me.

Let me say that although this has put me in some kind of holding pattern, I am packed and ready to leave the U.S. for England. More importantly, I definitely want to play on the album, and I definitely want to tour with Black Sabbath.

Since the news of Tony's illness, and the understanding that the band would move production to the U.K., I've spent everyday getting to or living in a place of readiness to leave. That involves something of a task, and as I've tried to find out what's going on with the U.K. sessions, I've realized that I've been getting 'the cold shoulder' (and, I might add, not for the first time). Feeling somewhat ostracized, my guess is as of today, I will know nothing of what'shappening unless I sign 'the unsignable contract.'

The place I'm in feels lousy and lonely because as much as I want to play and participate, I also have to stand for something and not sign on. If I sign as-is, I stand to lose my rights, dignity and respectability as a rock musician. I believe in freedom and freedom of speech. I grew up in a hard rock/metal band. We stood for something then, and we played from the heart with honesty and sincerity. I am in the spirit of integrity, far from the corporate malady, I am real and honest, fair and compassionate.

If I'm replaced, I have to face you, the beloved Sabbath fans. I hope you will not hold me responsible for the failure of an original Black Sabbath lineup as promoted. Without fault finding, I want to assure everyone that my loyalty to Sabbath is intact.

So here I am. I lay my truth down before you. I'm good to go IF I get a 'signable' contract. I don't want to let anyone down, especially Black Sabbath and all the Sabbath fans. You know I love you. It would be a sad day in Rock if this current situation fell to the desires of a few.

My position is not greed-driven. I'm not holding out for a 'big piece' of the action (money) like some kind of blackmail deal. I'd like something that recognizes and is reflective of my contributions to the band, including the reunions that started fourteen years ago. After the last tour I vowed to never again sign on to an unreasonable contract. I want a contract that shows some respect to me and my family, a contract that will honor all that I've brought to Black Sabbath since its beginning.

That's the story so far.

Stay safe and stay strong.

I love every single one of you.

Jessie J promises Rihanna kiss

Jessie-J-promises-Rihanna-kiss Email this story Printable version

Jessie J promises to 'snog Rihanna and Ed Sheeran' should she win three BRIT Awards this year.

The 23-year-old songstress has been nominated in the Best Female Artist, Best Breakthrough Act and Best Single categories.

If she should be triumphant with all three, Jessie has pledged to take on a kissing challenge requested by band 3am.

'Do you dare me just to run up and snog him when he doesn't expect it?' she said between giggles on UK talk show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. 'He might not want me to snog him! Is Rihanna gonna be there? Don't dare me to snog her because I will. Alright. So [I'm] snogging Rihanna and Ed Sheeran.'

Should this scenario play out the way she dreams, Jessie hopes that she will be conscious enough to plant a kiss on Rihanna and Ed.

'If I win all three, I think I'll faint first,' she gushed. 'I don't think it's going to happen.'

The BRIT Awards are important to Jessie, but so is working with some of her favourite musicians. Jessie has revealed how ecstatic she is to potentially be collaborating with iconic Welsh soul singer Tom Jones.

'I have already spoken to Tom about doing something, maybe a single [at the launch of Radio 1's Hackney Weekend 2012 this summer],' she said. 'He is legendary. I would be honoured to sing with him.'

Radio 1's Hackney Weekend festival will take place in London in June 23-34.

The BRIT Awards will be held on February 21 at London's O2 Arena.

Paris Hilton has posted pics of her in the studio working on new song with Flo Rida and Afrojack.

Hilton released her self-titled album in 2006, and has been working here and there on new music since 2007, songs being recorded but subsequently shelved.

Now she's teamed up with the big guns for her second album, spending time in the studio with hitmaker Flo Rida and DJ buddy Afrojack.

She just posted on twitter: '@Official_Flo, what up! #YES! So much fun the other night, I love our new songs! Killed it! #YES!'

And Flo Rida replied with a pic of him beavering away on a track, which may well be titled 'Good Feeling' or 'Yes' if those incessant hashtags is any indication: 'In the studio working! #GoodFeeling S/O to @ParisHilton #Yes'.

She has also said that she's been working with RedFoo of LMFAO and Snoop Dogg. Word is that the album will be out in the middle of the year.

Heidi Klum struggled with marriage for months

Heidi-Klum-struggled-with-marriage-for-months Email this story Printable version

Heidi Klum has allegedly confided in friends that her marriage problems began a year ago.

The German supermodel and her British musician spouse Seal have confirmed they are separating after almost seven years of marriage.

They haven't given a reason for the split, although Seal admitted in a recent interview that they did sometimes disagree.

A source has told British magazine Look than things have not been right between the couple for some time.

'They're both devastated. But regardless of how sad they are, there must be a part of them that feel relieved, because Heidi says their marriage hasn't been working for at least a year,' the insider claimed. 'I think Seal can be difficult and has a lot of mood swings. One minute he's the most fun guy in the world, and the nest he's angry over some little thing. I'm sure Heidi's struggled with that and recently I think it's become harder to deal with.'

Following their break-up announcement, gossip website TMZ alleged Seal's bad temper was part of the reason the couple are no longer together.

It's also been suggested his wild partying while on holiday with Heidi and the four children their raise last year caused issues between them.

Eminem sued for $9m by homeless New Yorker

Eminem-sued-for-$9m-by-homeless-New-Yorker Email this story Printable version

A homeless New Yorker has filed a lawsuit against Eminem for nine million bucks after claiming the rapper stole his idea for the Born of Fire Chrysler commercial that appeared at the Superbowl last year.

According to Allhiphop.com, Stephen Lee Pieck of Westchester, New York filed the lawsuit on January 12 in the United States District Court, Southern District of New York. His claim was hand written and his address was listed as 'homeless'.

The general gist of Pieck's claim is that he was having dinner with Christina Aguilera and her then-husband Jordon Bratman at a Legal Sea Foods restaurant when Aguilera called Eminem and handed Pieck the phone where he proceeded to give Eminem the Born of Fire idea.

'I want the court to reward me a judgement in the amount of $9 million,' Allhiphop.com quotes Pieck's lawsuit as saying. 'I designed every aspect of the commercial and the commercial was stolen from me. In addition, I did not receive compensation in monetary terms for the work I did.'

The commercial aired in the 2011 Superbowl and showed Eminem driving a Chrysler through Detroit. It sure makes me want to fist-bump every citizen of Detroit, but it doesn't really make me want to drive a Chrysler.

Zoë Kravitz's boyfriend appeared 'nervous' at dinner with her father.

Zoë has reportedly made the decision to introduce her beau of nearly a year, Gossip Girl actor Penn Badgley, to her rock musician father Lenny Kravitz.

The trio had dinner at Mr. Chow in New York City together Wednesday.

The meeting felt awkward at first.

'[Penn] sat opposite Lenny at a table for six,' an eyewitness told Life & Style magazine. 'Penn looked a bit nervous! He wasn''t talking too much to begin with, but warmed up as the evening went on.'

As Penn lightened his mood, everyone at the table began to relax. The actor even felt comfortable enough to steal a quick kiss from Zoë.

'But Penn was very appropriate,' the source continued. 'It was only a sweet peck.'

Lenny has spoken before about his thoughts on Zoë's romantic life.

'I''m not [dreading walking her down the aisle],' Lenny said last summer. 'I look forward to it. But I''m hoping she doesn''t ask me that, like, tomorrow.'

Zoë and Penn are rumoured to have began dating in July 2011.

Before her relationship with Penn, Zoë was linked to Michael Fassbender.

Penn is renowned for keeping tight-lipped about his love life. He dated his Gossip Girl co-star Blake Lively for three years but declined to comment on their time together in public.

The superstar will take to the stage at the iconic American football game at halftime this weekend.

Madonna has intense butterflies in her stomach about this performance, as millions of people will be watching her.

'I'm so nervous!' she told Extra. 'It's like the Super Bowl is like, God in America. It's like the whole country is watching this game. It's everything and it means so much to people. Then I come on at halftime... I'd better put on a damn good show, right?'

Madonna has reportedly been prepping hard for this performance, putting in up to 12 hour rehearsal days at the studio.

Although Madonna won't reveal what she's planning to do onstage, the star guarantees that audiences will be entertained.

'I'm not telling you [what I'm doing]," Madonna said. 'I'm gonna do a new song from my record, then do some oldies but goodies, so stay tuned.'

Give Me All Your Luvin' is the first track from Madonna's upcoming album M.D.N.A. and the whole promo will be released today.

Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. will join Madonna during the halftime show.

Super Bowl XLVI airs this Sunday.

Mock-rockers Tenacious D ' Jack Black and Kyle Gass ' release a teaser animation for their new album.

The acoustic joke-metal duo toured Australia with Foo Fighters late last year and now they prepare for their third album Rize Of The Fenix.

In a bitter teaser for the new album, Black claims that critics wrote them off following their last album/film The Pick Of Destiny but they are ready to 'rize' again.

You can hear the song's intro below on SoundCloud but it works a lot better alongside the little animation at their Rize Of The Fenix page here.

Rumour has it that the album will be released in May.

Blake-Shelton:-Country-making-a-comeback Email this story Printable version

Blake Shelton believes a country singer could win the second series of The Voice US.

The singer is a judge on the reality TV show which returns to NBC for its second series tonight.

Having excelled as a country singer himself, the Honey Bee crooner was pleased to see several strong musicians representing the genre in the auditions stages of the programme.

'There are some country singers that are really good,' Blake told American publication People. 'We had a few last year but we didn't end up with a country singer in the final four.'

Blake was so impressed with the strong showing he predicts that a performer of the much-loved genre could go on to triumph in the new series.

He takes his place on the judging panel alongside Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera.

'I know anything can happen,' he said. 'But I really believe in my heart that one of several country singers that we have on our show this year have a shot at winning the whole thing.'

Last year the first series of The Voice US saw Javier Colon crowned the winner. Mentored by Adam, his prize included $100,000 and a coveted recording contract.

Black Sabbath to play without Ward

It wouldn't be the full reunion of the original lineup but three-out-of-four isn't that bad. After Bill Ward announced that his participation in the Black Sabbath reunion was in jeopardy over an "unsignable" contract, the rest of the band responded by saying they would carry on without him.

Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler and Tony Iommi posted the following statement on Facebook:

We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans. We have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open...We are still in the UK with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll...See you at Download!!!"

In his original statement, Ward did acknowledge the possibility that negotiations would end without his participation. "If I'm replaced, I have to face you, the beloved Sabbath fans. I hope you will not hold me responsible for the failure of an original Black Sabbath lineup as promoted. Without fault finding, I want to assure everyone that my loyalty to Sabbath is intact."

Due out March 20 on his own VANDIT label, EVOLUTION is PAUL VAN DYK's (PvD) first major offering since 2007's In Between and his sixth studio album overall.

It is the product of the Berlin-based electronic dance music producer and performer's months of studio time, and far more time spent on the road traveling the globe. The backbone of the album was built while performing and composing in front of live audiences worldwide and its connecting threads build upon decades of watching the electronic dance music scene grow and change.

The first offering is available today as a free download exclusively via http://www.paulvandyk.com/, is 'Verano' featuring Austin Leeds.

Miami-based DJ/producer Austin Leeds, who previously collaborated with PvD on 'New York City' from his last studio album In Between, is featured on EVOLUTION for the intense and punchy floor filler. Says PvD, 'There's a sunny Miami bass vibe to it and I'm coming more from the darker, Berlin underground side, and when we work together you find both sides there, but not in a separate way. It belongs together.'

PAUL VAN DYK's 2012 U.S. special performances in a more intimate setting for his fans thus far include:
2/8 - Chicago @ The Mid
2/9 - NYC @ Pacha
2/10 - San Francisco @ Ruby Skye
2/11 - Los Angeles @ Avalon
3/24 - Miami @ Ice Palace (Winter Music Conference)

Tickets go on sale Tuesday, February 7 at noon ET. For more information on PvD, check out his official site, Facebook, and Twitter.
